Washington Preparatory High School placed lockdown as police search for stolen vehicle suspect

Washington Preparatory High School was placed on on lockdown for part of the day Friday after a person wanted by authorities ran onto campus. 

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the school, which is located in the 10800 block of Denker Avenue, at around noon Friday after learning the suspect, wanted for their alleged connection to a stolen vehicle investigation, walked onto the campus, the department said. 

The lockdown was lifted a little before 2 p.m., but it was unclear if anyone was ever taken into custody.
