Los Angeles County Reports 13,315 New Cases Of COVID-19
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Los Angeles County is reporting 13,315 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and 58 additional deaths, according to public health officials.
The cumulative county totals are 623,670 cases to date and 8,875 fatalities among the 4,370,000 individuals tested for coronavirus in L.A. County.
5,549 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in L.A. County and of those, 21% are in the intensive care unit.
Los Angeles County, along with 10 other counties in the Southern California region, remains under a health order that prohibits in-person dining and other non-essential activities in an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus, officials said.
Vaccine rollouts, which will go first to the most vulnerable populations, including essential workers, are imminent as the Pfizer and Moderna coronavirus vaccines have both been approved for emergency use.
