Long Beach Woman Killed In Fatal Bicycle Crash In Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A motorist struck and killed a bicyclist in Huntington Beach, authorities said Friday.

The bicyclist was Nadia Silva, 31, according to the coroner's office. The Huntington Beach Police Department said she was a resident of Long Beach.

Silva was crossing the southbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway from a center median when she was struck between Goldenwest and Seapoint streets by a southbound motorist, Huntington Beach police accident Investigator Robert Barr said.

Officers were dispatched to the crash at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, Barr said. Silva was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 5:36 a.m. Thursday, according to the coroner's office.

"No citations have been issued and no arrests have been made at this time," Barr said. "Speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision."

Witnesses to the crash can call police investigators at (714) 960-8825.
