Long Beach homeowner shot by intruder

A homeowner was shot by an intruder who entered a condo in Long Beach Wednesday morning.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. in the 00 block of 38th Place, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Authorities said the suspect walked into the condo off the beach, and shot the victim. Another resident of the home called 911.

The homeowner was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is in stable condition.

Police said the identity of the suspect and motive of the shooting are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (562) 570-7370.
