Local Students Pay Tribute To The Beatles During Recording Session At Capitol Records
HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Fifty years ago, The Beatles recorded two of their most beloved albums for Capitol Records, "Help!" and "Rubber Soul."
Tuesday, some local students chose a Beatles song when they got a chance to record their own album inside the iconic Capitol Records building.
The fourth- and fifth-graders from Noble Elementary School are making their own recording of the band's hit "Eleanor Rigby."
"They sing really good, and they're my favorite band," 10-year-old Nadia Perez gushed.
The kids are learning how The Beatles influenced modern-day music and about other aspects of the music industry.
They also turned it up a notch with the Taylor Swift hit "Shake it Off."
Music teacher Ava Ham orchestrated the event, which she called a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"Maybe [they will] be involved in it when they get older, or just for the experience of something they may never, ever have a chance to do in their lifetimes," Ham said.
"Also singing, learning how to sing and learning about the arts and coming here to Capitol. It's a full, rounded education."
