You don't have to run through platform 9 and 3/4 to get to the world of Harry Potter, you just have to go to the Hollywood Museum. The museum now features a collection of authentic acquisitions from the Harry Potter film franchise. The exhibit boasts an extensive collection featuring the ultimate broom used in the Sorcerer's Stone, a collection of Potter's wands, a black wand box signed by Maggie Smith and Dumbledore's purple hand wand in it's dragon skin box. Other items on display include signed blueprints of Hogwarts, photos, posters and even a pair of Daniel Radcliffe's tennis shoes. The exhibit is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday and costs $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $5 for kids.
Date: Friday, September 12
Summer is almost over but that doesn't mean it's too late to cool down with a nice chocolate milkshake. This Friday is National Chocolate Milkshake Day, so take a trip over to Ruby's Shake Shack on E. Coast Highway in Newport Coast for some sun, sand and shakes. Ruby's offers chocolatey options like the classic Hershey's chocolate shake and the deluxe double dark chocolate chip. The chocolate turtle shake is also strongly recommended, served in a tall glass oozing with caramel and chocolate sauce plus a metal tumbler inside equipped with even more milkshake! Ruby's has been a staple in Cali for over 30 years and still delivers the same quality handmade shakes they started serving back in 1980. Ruby's is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
