Large Sinkhole Opens Up In Backyard Of Riverside Home

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A large sinkhole opened up in the backyard of a home in the Inland Empire.

The hole in the backyard of the home on Pennsylvania Avenue in Riverside is 4-feet wide and 23-feet deep.

It was discovered Wednesday afternoon by the homeowner who was draining his above ground pool.

He says he's lucky his four kids didn't fall in.

The city has reportedly said the sinkhole wasn't caused by their systems.

Apparently, it will be up to the homeowner's insurance to fix.
