LAPD Warns Motorists About Streets To Avoid With Vice President Biden In Town
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Oscars? The Vice President in town? The Vice President scheduled to go to the Oscars? It all spells possible traffic nightmare.
The Los Angeles Police Department has put out a list of streets that motorists should avoid Sunday and Monday (when Vice President Biden is expected to leave the Los Angeles area.)
Sunday, February 28
The area around Galaxy Way between the Avenue of the Stars area and Century Park East from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The area around Avenue of the Stars between Santa Monica Boulevard & West Pico Boulevard from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The area around Santa Monica Boulevard between the Century Park West area & Highland Avenue from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The area around La Brea Avenue between the Willoughby Avenue area & Franklin Avenue from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The area around Hollywood Boulevard between the North Fuller Avenue area & Highland Avenue from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The area around North Orange Drive between the Hawthorne Avenue area & Franklin Avenue from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Monday, February 29
The area around Galaxy Way between the Avenue of the Stars area and Century Park East from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.
The area around Avenue of the Stars between Santa Monica Boulevard & West Pico Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.
The area around Santa Monica Boulevard between Butler Avenue & Century Park East from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.
The area around Tujunga Avenue between Magnolia Boulevard & Moorpark Street from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.
The area around Sherman Way between Bellaire Avenue & Clybourn Avenue from 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon.
While the LAPD said there were no "hard closures" during this particular visit, traffic will be limited or restricted on Avenue of the Stars between Constellation Avenue and Pico Boulevard from 5 p.m. on February 27 to 11 a.m. February, 29.
