2 students stabbed in Reseda neighborhood, blocks away from Cleveland Charter High School

Police investigating reports of stabbing near Reseda high school

Two students from a Reseda high school were stabbed blocks away from campus Tuesday afternoon.

The two reported stabbings happened in different locations but near Cleveland Charter High School. The first stabbing happened at the intersections of Vanalden Avenue and Community Street at 3:05 p.m. The other 15 minutes later at Vanalden Avenue and Malden Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD said no one had been taken to the hospital, and firefighters did not release the ages or genders of the victims.

"No other student or staff has been impacted by this incident," the principal said in a message to the school community. "The parents of the involved students have been notified."

A Los Angeles Unified School District spokesperson said both the Los Angeles Police Department and the LA School Police Department were investigating the stabbings.

"Out of an abundance of caution, there will be extra patrols on campus to ensure the safety of all our students," the principal added.

Counselors will be provided to students if they need support or someone to talk to.

"This incident provides an opportunity to speak with your child about making positive choices and to remind them to tell an adult if they are experiencing issues with other students," the principal added. We also encourage everyone to follow the District's message: if you see something, say something."
