4 LAPD Officers Hurt After Chase Ends In Crash On 118 Freeway Onramp In Pacoima

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A police chase ended in a crash early Monday in Pacoima, leaving several people hurt, including four LAPD officers.

LAPD officers began chasing robbery suspects at Foothill Boulevard and Wentworth Street in Sunland, according to officials. The chase ended three to four minutes later with a crash on the Glenoaks Boulevard onramp to the westbound 118 Freeway.

The suspect vehicle, a white Mercedes SUV, had overturned and was left on its roof, while one of the LAPD vehicles was left with major rear end damage. A second LAPD vehicle had front-end damage, and both had to be towed away.

Two female suspects were taken into custody and hospitalized for their injuries. Police say the white Mercedes was carjacked from Daly City in Northern California Sunday, and at least one of the women involved in Monday's crash is a suspect in the carjacking.

None of the officers involved in the crash suffered major injuries and all are expected to be OK.

A Sigalert was issued for the Glenoaks onramp and offramp to the 118 Freeway for the police investigation. All lanes reopened just before 9 a.m.
