LAPD: 3 Arrested After Stabbing Murder Of Teen In Sherman Oaks; Additional Suspects Sought
SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Saturday in locating additional suspects related to the stabbing murder of a 17-year-old boy.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 6:40 p.m. Friday to the 15000 block of Dickens Street for report of a stabbing.
A preliminary investigation revealed Jacob Koffman, and five males, were involved in a dispute over narcotics that took place behind an apartment building.
At some point during the struggle, Koffman and another male juvenile were cut.
Officers explained the murder weapon, described as a tactical folding knife, was recovered at the scene.
When authorities arrived on scene, they transported both juveniles to a hospital for treatment, where Koffman succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the other juvenile was medically cleared, but was detained for questioning. Two other male suspects, a juvenile and 18-year-old, were also brought in for questioning.
During the interview, police subsequently booked two juvenile males for murder. An adult suspect, identified as Ennio Avolio, was booked for possession of narcotics for sales.
Detectives said they are still looking to speak with two additional persons of interest. They are both described as Hispanic men, between the ages of 17 and 18-years-old, who were last seen running northbound from Dickens Street.
