Lancaster Motorcycle Crash Victim Saves 2 Lives As Organ Donor
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — The family of a young woman who died after a crash say Rachelle Adrian has saved two lives as an organ donor.
The crash that claimed the life of the 25-year-old Adrian occurred Super Bowl Sunday at the corner of Avenue I and 20th Street East.
Her family says Adrian, who loved to ride motorcycles, had just purchased a new bike.
Before the crash, she had left her parents' home to show it off to a friend, who lives nearby.
It was then, deputies say, a car may have cut off Adrian, who lost control. The driver of that car never stopped, authorities said.
Adrian was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
"It just angers me. It's just a lot of pain that I'm going through right now," her brother said.
But Adrian's family is finding some comfort in knowing she became an organ donor a few years ago. They say her kidneys and liver saved two people's lives.
Her father, Gary Adrian, says he knows his daughter is living on through them.
"A lot of people through this experience have promised to be organ donors in the future, so maybe my daughter's death will help a lot of people," he said.
The Lancaster Sheriff's Department has classified the crash as a non-contact hit-and-run, meaning the driver may not have known an accident had occurred.
