Lakers Head To First NBA Finals Since 2010 With 117-107 Win Over Nuggets

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) -- LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday to their first NBA Finals appearance since 2010.

The Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 117-107 in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted Saturday night, that the Lakers are the "best in the West once again! The purple and gold are headed back to the finals — and just four wins away from bringing home our first title in a decade. I can't wait to join Angelenos to cheer them on through every minute. #JobNotFinished."

The Lakers will play the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.

Currently, the Heat leads the series, 3-2, heading into Sunday's Game 6.
