LA28 Olympic Games to begin on July 14, run through July 30
The schedule for the 2028 Olympics is set to begin on July 14, 2028 and go through July 30, Olympic officials announced on Monday in Downtown LA.

LA will also play host to the Paralympic Games, which will begin on Aug. 14 in 2028.
The Games will return to LA for the first time since 1984. It's the third time that the city has hosted the Olympics, with the first occurrence coming in 1932.
LA will join London and Paris as the only cities in the world to host the summer Olympics three times. The nearly $7 billion dollar budget for the games will be privately funded, according to the LA28 planning committee.
"This is the only stadium where two Olympics have opened. It will be the only one where three Olympics will open," Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said.
Garcetti, along with nearly two dozen Olympic and Paralympic athletes and delegates from the International Olympic Committee, announced the dates for The Games on Monday at the John C. Argue Swim Stadium in Exposition Park.
The grand ceremony on July 14 will take place at the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood simultaneously, Garcetti said.
This will be the first time that LA will host the Paralympic Games.
