LA IT Recruiter Takes Pride In Seeing Individuals' Careers Grow

Diane Krehbiel-Delson is chief headhunting officer at DKKD Staffing. She has worked in the recruiting business since 2000 and founded DKKD Staffing in 2011 with colleagues from prior employers. DKKD Staffing aligns job seekers with clients who are looking to fill their job openings.Their primary niches are executive roles, IT, finance & accounting, HR, recruiters and administrators, staffing contractors and full-time salaried employees across the US.

Krehbiel-Delson works with private executive leadership business programs, coaches and mentors on a regular basis to further her education. Job-related degrees and certifications are highly desired by employers using recruiters to fill positions.

What are the scope and responsibilities of your current role?

"As the founder of DKKD Staffing, I manage all sales, facilitation with clients (CEO's, CTO/CIO's, CISO's, VP's, directors, managers) and business operations. I personally screen all executive applicants, and my Chief Recruitment Officer, Jenny Shrive interviews and screens every other candidate; we work to match chemistry as well as the skill sets required."

What is your favorite part of your daily duties?

"In the recruiting business we get to meet new people on a daily basis and hear some amazing personal stories. Many of our clients and applicants become friends because this is not just a job to us. When we find a great job for somebody that leads to a career, we feel we have provided the service our business was intended for. I personally enjoy enhancing somebody's career through coaching and watching them grow"

Do you feel your education prepared you for your current role?

"Prior and continued education plays an extremely important role to advise and coach people seeking careers. Some of the best advice comes from successful business people who have also failed, so I love sharing stories from my clients and candidates"

Do you have any advice for people who desire to pursue a similar career?

"My advice is if you want to become a recruiter, remember to treat people with respect and honesty and make them feel good about their experience with you. Recruiting is one of the most rewarding careers because you get to help people. The IT job market is hot and continues to grow due to information security breaches and preventative measures needed, mobile applications, etc, so there is always a need for good recruiters to work with job seekers".
