LA And NY Top Police Brass Make Friendly Lunch Wager Over Stanley Cup

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —   Following in the wager war already waged by their mayoral counterparts, the top police brass from Los Angeles and New York have decided to make a friendly bet about the outcome of the Stanley Cup.

It's Kings vs. Rangers on the ice but the competition is also pitting LAPD Chief Charlie Beck against New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton, himself a former LAPD Chief.

Should the Kings win, Commissioner Bratton is slated to buy lunch for Chief Beck at New York's Katz's Deli.

If the Rangers win, Chief Beck has to buy lunch for Bratton at Langer's Deli in Los Angeles.

When Commissioner Bratton left Los Angeles he reportedly stated one of the things he would miss most about the city was the pastrami at Langer's.

Chief Beck quipped Wednesday, "It's too bad that Commissioner Bratton will not be able to enjoy one of his favorite foods!"
