STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Things are settling down after a busy day Tuesday.

Rainfall totals are in the ballpark of 1-inch for the Los Angeles-area.

There is still the potential for more rain although it will be light and scattered through Tuesday night.

Foothill communities have received an upwards of 2.5-inches so far. It should be a mellow overnight and a slow start Wednesday.

Most everyone has a chance for a scattered shower. However, by late Wednesday morning, there is another wave of energy moving through the area.

This could translate into another round of heavy downpours.

The focus of this action will be Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and San Bernardino Counties. The lunch-hour will be very busy for these locations.

Then, that heavy action moves into the Los Angeles area hitting the basin around the afternoon commute. This will have to be watched very closely.

We should dry out by Thursday.
