'Jamzilla' Paving Project Through Sepulveda Pass Ends On Schedule
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Crews wrapped up an 80-hour closure of the northbound 405 Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass Tuesday morning.
The paving project, dubbed "Jamzilla," began late Friday night from Getty Center Drive to Ventura Boulevard and ended just after 5 a.m.
Metro warned drivers to avoid the freeway over President's Day weekend and many heeded the advice with few issues reported.
"I'm happy to say we've be able to get it done on time and we are ready to open up the freeway for public use," Metro project manager K.N. Murthy said.
Jamzilla is part of a $1.1 billion freeway-widening project. For more information, visit Metro's website.
