Investigation underway after 61-year-old man shot to death inside car in Pomona

Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in Pomona over the weekend. 

They were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Lincoln Avenue at around 7 p.m. on Sunday evening after learning of an assault with a deadly weapon that had happened in the area, according to a statement from the Pomona Police Department. 

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as a 61-year-old Gregory Burke Estel, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

"Homicide investigators from the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation," police said. "The motive for the crime is not yet known."

No arrests have yet been announced by police.
