Infant's Body Found At Hesperia Recycling Facility

HESPERIA (CBSLA.com) — The body of an infant was found Wednesday morning at a recycling facility in San Bernardino County.

Deputies responded around 8 a.m. to Advance Disposal Company, 17105 Mesa St. in Hesperia,  for a report of a possible baby located inside the facility, said Jodi Miller of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

"Upon arrival, deputies confirmed a deceased, what appears to be, newborn on a conveyor belt along with trash," she said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives, crime scene specialists and the coroner have responded to the scene for an investigation.

"The operations of this facility came to a immediate halt as soon as the baby was located," Miller added.

The baby's gender and race were not released. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the newborn's cause and manner of death.

Anyone with "information about a possible female recently pregnant and recently gave birth who did not seek the assistance of a hospital, to please contact sheriff's dispatch at (760)956-5001," Miller said.
