Hunt Continues For Suspects Who Killed 2 San Bernardino Teens In Car-To-Car Shooting

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com)  —  The hunt continues Friday for the brazen suspect or suspects who shot and killed two teens -- a couple --  in San Bernardino in a car-to-car shooting in April.

Six weeks after the killings of a man and his girlfriend, San Bernardino Police said they were doubling their efforts to bring the suspect to justice.

Authorities were also hoping to obtain the public's help in identifying the killer or killers by releasing surveillance video showing a car they believe was involved.

Police do not believe the slayings were gang-related and the shooting does not appear linked to any recent shootings. It is not clear is the shooting was random -- or something else.

Friday night, the family met with CBS2's Tom Wait to plead for the public's help.

The shooting happened on 29th Street and N. Pershing Avenue, about a block southeast of the 210 Freeway.

Ariel Bojorquez had a lot of energy -- his family said it was contagious. Just 19, they said he had a passion for life and his life had barely begun.

The youngest of five, he was gunned down alongside his girlfriend, 17-year-old Rosa Chavez, as they drove in his car.

"It's tough you know," said sister Marilyn. "It just sucks that we can't find the shooter."

The family is beyond frustrated.

"There's no why. What was the motive?," says sister Valerie Buenrostro. "Out of nowhere, he's just gone."

Police have surveillance video of a vehicle they believe was involved but said they can't tell the make or model.

"He was the baby," says Valerie, "he was our baby."

The sisters remember their brother's sense of humor and that he was a great uncle to their kids.
