Hours-long standoff ends as police arrest robbery suspect in Culver City

A robbery suspect was arrested following an hours-long barricade inside of a garage in Culver City on Saturday.

The incident began a little before 9 a.m. when police were called to the area for reports of a robbery at a Shell gas station located at 10332 Culver Boulevard, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Officers arrived and learned that the suspect fled the area and barricaded inside of a detached garage at a home near Jasmine Avenue and Braddock Drive.

At around 4 p.m., after seven hours of negotiation, which involved the department's Crisis Negotiation Team, Drone Team and K-9 Unit, police successfully led the suspect out of the garage and placed him under arrest.

One person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the gas station, but police did not disclose the extent or nature of those injuries.

No further information was provided.
