Homicide Detectives Investigate Deadly Deputy-Involved Shooting In Valinda
VALINDA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting in Valinda on Friday.
The incident unfolded around 1:18 a.m., located in the 800 block of Ashcomb Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Upon their arrival, deputies became involved in a shooting with an adult Hispanic man after he grabbed for a deputy's firearm.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
No deputies were injured in the shooting.
A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect originally entered a home that did not belong to him. The homeowner notified authorities of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
