1 of 3 Men Wanted In Deadly Metro Bus Stabbing In Highland Park Under Arrest

HIGHLAND PARK (CBSLA.com) — One of three men wanted in the deadly stabbing of a man on a Metro bus in Highland Park is under arrest.

The arrest on Tuesday came hours after authorities released security photos of the three suspects.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the man arrested is Suspect 1, as shown in the Special Bulletin. The other two suspects remain at large.

The attack happened around 10:40 p.m. Monday on Metro bus line 81 in the area of North Figueroa and Meridian Streets, according to Deputy Mike Barraza.

"Detectives have learned that three male Hispanic suspects entered bus Line 81 at 57th Avenue and Figueroa Street," Barraza said. "They then walked to the back of the bus where they began to argue with the victim. During the argument, one of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest."

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

All three suspects got off the bus at North Figueroa and Meridian Streets and fled.
