Homeless Man Arrested In Connection With Hollywood Hills Murder

HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A homeless man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an actor in Hollywood Hills, police said Tuesday.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is expected to be extradited to California within 48 hours, according to police.

The man, who is in his early 20s and has a violent criminal history, was arrested out-of-state Monday.

Police were able to track the suspect down through evidence found during the investigation.

Commanding Officer Cory Palka announced the arrest on Twitter Monday night.

Richard Hong, 41, was found "bludgeoned to death" inside of a home located in the 6700 block of Milner Road on Sept. 23, according to police.

Hong, a Canadian actor who lives in Los Angeles, was staying at the home of TV talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos when he was killed.

According to Stroumboulopoulos, Hong was a close friend.

The motive for the murder remains under investigation.
