Home, Trees Catch Fire In Alhambra Neighborhood

ALHAMBRA (CBSLA) – About 10 tall Cypress trees caught fire in Alhambra early Monday morning, and the flames then spread to an adjacent home.

The fire was reported a little after 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Stoneman Avenue.

About 10 trees caught fire. The blaze then spread to the roof and attic of an adjacent home.

A neighbor told CBSLA that he and his wife noticed the flames and rushed to alert to homeowners.

"She called 911, I ran out and banged on their door and their window and everything and got them out of the house," neighbor Tom Ruggeri told CBSLA.

Alhambra Fire Department crews responded and extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries. Crews remained on scene searching for hot spots.

It's unclear what caused the fire.
