Hit-and-run driver sought after crash killed pedestrian in Canoga Park
Investigators are searching for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Canoga Park this week, police said Saturday.
The victim was crossing westbound on De Soto Avenue, just north of Gresham Street, around 5:15 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a gray or silver car was driving southbound on De Soto, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Paramedics pronounced the man, a resident of Canoga Park in his 40s, dead at the scene.
His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives are urging any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. LAPD has said there was heavy traffic in the area of De Soto and Gresham at the time of the crash.
