She even asked me how that lady knew how to sign to her. Taylor has only been employed there for a couple of weeks and she is already so efficient in her job. FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (CBSLA.com) — For many, ordering a meal is a moment that is often overlooked and perhaps even taken for granted.
But for Cynthia Walker of North Carolina, it's so much more than that.
That's because Walker is hearing-impaired.
And her mother says she "never experienced a chance to order for herself without people just starring at her."
That is until her family took her to a Chick-fil-A on Raeford Road in N.C.
The family says they had learned that one of the employees, who Walker's mother identified in a Facebook post as Taylor, knew sign language.
And the endearing moment capturing Walker ordering in sign for the first time ever has now gone viral.
As for Taylor, she has full hearing but learned sign language because she has two deaf family members.
"We will make this location our regular stop," Walker's mother wrote in a Facebook post that's now been viewed more than 2 million times.
