Greyhound Bus Careens Off Freeway Into Ditch In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Police Saturday were on the scene of a traffic collision involving a bus in San Bernardino.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a Greyhound bus was traveling from Phoenix, Ariz., to L.A. on the westbound 10 Freeway, just east of the Waterman South exit, according to California Highway Patrol officers.

Officers were told a passenger came to the front of the bus and grabbed the wheel, which caused the bus to careen off of the freeway and into a ditch.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Police explained 22 passengers were on board the bus. Five people were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
