Glendora Woman, 25, Accused Of Fatal Hit-And-Run DUI Crash In West Covina

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities have charged a 25-year-old woman with a fatal hit-and-run DUI crash in West Covina.

Presley Danielle Rodriguez of Glendora has been charged with one felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The felony complaint includes a special allegation that the defendant fled the scene.

Rodriguez is scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 8 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. The defendant's bail was set at $150,000.

The DA said Rodriguez was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol when she hit a bicyclist with her vehicle in West Covina on Monday.

Soon after the crash, Rodriguez was arrested by an officer who happened to be near the impact, prosecutors added.

The bicyclist, Jose De Jesus Ruiz Villanueva, died at the scene, according to the DA.

If convicted as charged, Rodriguez faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison.
