Galaxy's Zardes, Allen Named To USMNT Roster For Qualifiers; Dempsey Left Off
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — LA Galaxy forwards Gyasi Zardes and Alan Gordon have been named to to US Men's National Team 23-man roster for two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in November.
The US will take on St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday Nov 13 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, before traveling to Spain for a contest against Trinidad and Tobago, on Tues. Nov 17th.
It is worth noting that head coach Jurgen Klinsmann left off fan-favorite Clint Dempsey from the roster.
Zardes, 24, made his first USMNT appearance in January earlier this year.
In 29 regular season games for the Galaxy, Zardes finished with six goals and four assists.
Gordon, 34, most recently appeared for the USMNT during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he played in the second half of the semifinal match against Jamaica.
