Fund Established For Family Of LAPD Officer Killed In Crash

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A fund has been established to help the family of a veteran LAPD officer who was killed in a collision late last week in Beverly Hills.

The Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union said in a statement online that a donation account has been set up at the request of the Blue Ribbon Trust Account for LAPD Officer Nicholas Lee's family.

Officer Lee died Friday following a collision involving a trash hauler.

At the time of the collision, Officer Lee and his partner were responding to a call of unknown trouble. His partner, identified only as Stephanie, is expected to be OK.

The 40-year-old Lee was a decorated veteran of the LAPD who had received more than 70 commendations. He is survived by his wife and two young daughters.
