Freeway, Road Closures Planned For 405 Freeway, Sepulveda This Weekend

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Overnight closures in the West Los Angeles area will make driving this weekend a bit more complicated.

A stretch of the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles will be closed overnight Friday for re-striping and median work, according to Metro. The freeway will be closed between Santa Monica and Wilshire Boulevards, with ramp closures beginning at 7 p.m. and some lanes being blocked starting at 10 p.m.

All northbound lanes will be closed from midnight to about 5 a.m., Metro says. The northbound Santa Monica and Olympic/Pico onramps to the 405 Freeway will also be closed.

Northbound motorists will be diverted off the freeway at Santa Monica Boulevard, then north on Sepulveda Boulevard to the Wilshire onramp.

A half-mile stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard in Brentwood will also be closed overnight starting Friday and closures will continue through April 28.

Between Montana Avenue and Church Lane, Metro will install new roadway pavement, prompting overnight closures and daytime lane restrictions.

Full closures can be expected between 10 p.m. Fridays and 6 a.m. Mondays and on weekdays from 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. On weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

A list of daily closures and updates is available at www.metro.net/405.
