Former Mexican Restaurant Catches Fire In South Gate
SOUTH GATE (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters knocked down a blaze at a commercial building Sunday morning in South Gate.
It ignited around 3 a.m. at a building that once held the Rincon Taurino restaurant on Firestone Boulevard, west of Atlantic Avenue, CBS2/KCAL9's Joy Benedict reports.
It took 30 minutes for crews to extinguish the flames.
Arson investigators on scene said the fire, which broke out on the roof, didn't look suspicious but they'll continue to evaluate the scene.
No one was in the building at the time the fire broke out.
The building's owners told Benedict that the space is currently being used to store kitchen equipment for their four other Rincon Taurino restaurants in Southern California.
There were no injuries.
