Forbes: Real Madrid Is World's Most-Valuable Sports Team; Dodgers Ranked 6th At $2 Billion

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Just as the Germans won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Forbes released the list of world's most-valuable sports teams.

Soccer swept the top 3, with Real Madrid ($3.44 billion) keeping the top spot over FC Barcelona ($3.2 billion) as the most-valuable franchises in the world.

After Manchester United at third, the New York Yankees follow the Reds Devils at four, who are worth an estimated valuation of $2.5 billion.

At No. 6, Forbes values the Los Angeles Dodgers at $2 billion, overtaking the spot over the New England Patriots from the 2013 list.

The Guggenhiem-owned club is in its first year of a television deal with Time Warne Cable that's worth a total of $8.35 billion for 25 years.

The Los Angeles Lakers, coming off one of the worst seasons in franchise history, are ranked by Forbes at $1.5 billion.

Just like the Dodgers, the Lakers also have a massive deal with TWC that is worth $3.6 billion for 20 years.

The German club Bayern Munich, who has a lot of of players on the German national team, has been creeping up the list. This year, they're at seven.
