Tick Branch 10 Fire 100% Contained, Several Homes Burned
CASTAIC (CBSLA) — Flames erupted in Castaic Thursday afternoon as multiple brush fires sparked through Southern California.
The brush fire was said to have started near the northbound 5 Freeway and Lake Hughes Road near Castaic.

The approximately 20-acre fire burned at a rapid rate of spread burning at least one home and threatening others.
Views from SKY2 showed the roof of multiple homes burning.
There were initial reports that the fire was heading toward Castaic High School.
The 5 Freeway was closed at Hasley Canyon with drivers diverted to 126 westbound to the 101 Freeway as an alternate route. The 5 Freeway has since reopened.
The fires in Castaic and Val Verde were reported to be contained, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Santa Clarita Valley Station reported around 6 p.m.
Deputies were leaving the Castaic area to assist with the Tick Fire in Canyon Country.
Drivers were advised to pay attention on the road as many emergency vehicles were responding to assist.
