Firefighters Find Badly-Burned Body While Battling Blaze Near Carlsbad
CARLSBAD (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters on Thursday found a badly-burned body while battling a brush fire near Carlsbad.
Officials did not say if the victim was a man or a woman.
The victim is likely a transient, officials said.
The charred body was found -- about two miles from where it's believed the blaze started -- near a transient encampment at Ambrosia Lane and Calliandra Road, said authorities.
An investigation into the death -- including the identity of the victim and cause of death -- is on going.
