Firefighters battling Pacific Palisades brush fire burning near homes

CBS News Los Angeles

Firefighters are battling a small brush fire that broke out near homes in the hillsides of the Pacific Palisades Wednesday.

The blaze was reported near 1400 North Palisades Drive and had burned through about 5 acres, moving slowly in heavy brush near a reservoir, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert issued at 9:50 a.m.

Just after 10 a.m., aerial footage captured an LAFD helicopter making a water drop over the fire, with some flames seen burning along a hillside as a heavy cloud of smoke rose from the area.

No other details have been released by LAFD.
