Firefighters stop spread of fast-moving brush fire in Santa Clarita

Firefighters were battling a fast-moving brush fire in the Santa Clarita Valley Sunday afternoon.

The Margo fire erupted off Valle del Oro and Trumpet Drive and was approximately 1 acre with a rapid rate of spread. The public was being urged to avoid the area. 

The city of Santa Clarita issued a warning about the fire at 1:39 p.m. An hour later, city officials said crews were mopping up the scene with no further resources being put toward the blaze.
