Firefighters handle brush fire in Castaic

Firefighters quickly gained the upper hand on a brush fire in the Castaic area, which was being called the Indigo Fire. 

The fire broke out Sunday afternoon near Barcelona Road and Capri Court, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.  

It burned 24.5 acres before they were able to contain the flames. 

Crews are expected to remain on scene for several hours as they mop up the scene and extinguish any hot spots that may arise. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

No injuries or evacuation orders were reported.
