Fire Crews Extinguish Small Brush Fire In Fullerton
FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — A small brush fire was burning in the hills above La Habra and Fullerton on Friday afternoon, next to the site where another brush fire scorched 80 acres earlier this week.
Around 1 p.m., fire crews responded to a report of a 10,000 square foot fire near Castlewood Drive and Coyote Hills Drive in Fullerton.
Shortly after, ground and aerial fire crews were on the scene, dousing the flames with hoses and making water drops.
Authorities closed the intersection of Imperial Highway and Idaho Street due to the firefighting effort. For traffic updates, listen live to KNX 1070.
By 1:40 p.m., firefighters appeared to have extinguished many of the open flames. At 2:15 p.m. authorities said the fire was out.
A man was arrested on suspicion of igniting the 80-acre fire earlier this week. It's unclear whether Friday's fire was a flare-up from that earlier fire.
