21-Year-Old Ferrari Driver Killed, Passenger Critical In Monterey Park 2-Car Crash
MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said the driver of a Ferrari was killed and his passenger critically injured following a two-vehicle crash in Monterey Park early Saturday.
Officials said the driver of the second vehicle -- a silver Hyundai -- was also hospitalized. That unidentified driver's condition is unknown, said Monterey Police Lt. Scott Wiese.
The Ferrari was southbound on North New Avenue at 2:10 a.m. when it was struck by the Hyundai, which was westbound on East Garvey Avenue, Wiese said.
Witnesses told police the Hyundai driver was allegedly at fault, Wiese said, adding the driver may be investigated for DUI.
The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Fu Duan of Temple City. His male passenger has not been identified pending notification of his next of kin.
The Ferrari still had the dealer sticker on one of its windows, Wiese said, "It was brand, spanking new."
