Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police continued their investigation Sunday into the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident that occurred last night.
According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, officers responded around 11:00 p.m. Saturday to the area of Beach Boulevard, south of Talbert Avenue, for report of an injury-related traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Once on scene, officers located a unresponsive female in the roadway suffering from significant injuries.
Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Officials explained she has not yet been identified, but appears to be a white female in her mid 50s that stood about 5-foot-4 tall and weighed about 120 pounds.
A preliminary investigation revealed a silver 1998 Dodge Durango traveled southbound on Beach Boulevard, south of Talbert Avenue, when it collided with the pedestrian who was in the roadway.
Officers explained a 53-year-old man, of Westminster, who drove the Durango, was interviewed and released at the scene.
No citations or arrests have been made at this time.
