FBI Assists In Search For West Covina Man Missing Since September
WEST COVINA (CBSLA) — The FBI is involved Tuesday in the search for a West Covina man who has been missing since mid-September.
Shane Michael Rollman, 31, was last seen in West Covina on Sept. 12. His white BMW has been found at the McGuireville Rest Area near Rimrock, Ariz. on Sept. 23 — 450 miles from his home — according to the FBI.
Shane's mother, Sherry Rollman, said the car was out of gas when it was found. She said she found his cell phone and computer in the backseat, and his car looked too clean for someone who had just traveled such a long distance.
Right around the time he went missing $700 was withdrawn from his bank account at an ATM that did not have a security camera, Sherry said. His debit card hasn't been used since.
"I don't know if somebody made him take the money from the ATM...I don't know what," she said.
Sherry said the last time she spoke to him, he said he had a headache. When she went to his home to check on him, he was gone.
"You see the missing persons, but to me he's a missing son," she said. "He's my son and I want him back."
Rollman was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans and black shoes. He is described as a white man, about 190 pounds, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, with brown hair and blue eyes.
In addition to physical descriptors, Shane's mom had so much to say about his personality.
"One of the funniest, kindest people you could ever meet," she said.
Shane is an actor and sales rep who enjoys stargazing and hiking, Sherry said. She said she wonders what led him to the rural area of Arizona, adding that he had no reason to just up and leave.
Local law enforcement in Arizona carried out an extensive three-day search and rescue operation, but they did not uncover any clues.
Anyone with information about Rollman or his whereabouts, contact the nearest FBI office or American Embassy or Consulate.
