Fans React To Arrest Of Kings' Stoll On Drug Charge

EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — News of Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll's arrest in Las Vegas on a charge of suspicion of drug possession made its way to fans on Saturday morning.

Stoll, a member of the NHL team since 2008,  was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and Ecstasy (or Molly to young people) at the Wet Republic pool at the MGM Grand hotel, Las Vegas Metro police said.

The 32-year-old, who will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, posted $5,000 bond and has been released from custody, authorities said.

On Saturday morning, KCAL9's Joy Benedict spoke to fans at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, where the Kings train along with a number of other hockey teams and skaters.

"He's given so much to us over the years," one fan said. "He's played pivotal roles in both of our Stanley Cup championships. No one is better in the faceoff circle than he is. We just hope for the best. We send our hopes, our thoughts, our blessings to he and his family, and hope that everything works out well for him."

The Kings released a statement Friday night stating that the organization was aware of the arrest, but was withholding further comment pending further investigation.
