TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities said hundreds of Donald Trump supporters clashed with counter-protesters at a pro-Trump rally in Temecula Saturday.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Trump supporters from San Diego and Orange counties gathered at Duck Pond Park at 28250 Ynez Road for a rally to support the controversial presidential candidate, said Deputy Mike Vasquez. They were met with opposition by a large group of anti-Trump protesters.

According to Vasquez, members of Black Lives Matter and Ted Cruz supporters were among the opposition group.

The clash was heated but never escalated to violence, said Vasquez
