35-Acre Pine Fire Prompts Evacuations In Gorman
GORMAN (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters are battling a quick-moving brush fire that's scorched more than 35 acres in the Tejon Pass.
The second-alarm blaze ignited around 1 p.m. Friday in Gorman, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Old Ridge Route Road has been closed south of Highway 138.

Firefighters say the blaze is difficult to access and they're battling the flames primarily from the air with four helicopters and two Super Scoopers. The Super Scoopers are restocking on water at Quail Lake nearby and dropping it at the fire's perimeter. There are also teams on the ground.
Heat and light winds make the area vulnerable to fires but Mora says this blaze is mainly being fueled by dry brush.
"This is light to medium fuel which means it moves quite quickly. When you have wind with that it makes it even more dangerous," LACFD Inspector Keith Mora said.
At least three homes were reportedly threatened and LA County sheriff's deputies are assisting with evacuations, Mora said.
"If you're in danger, you need to evacuate immediately," the inspector said.
It's not yet known how the fire started.
Officials say the fire is now 15 percent contained.
