Evacuation warnings lifted in Riverside County Columbia Fire

A third fire erupted in Riverside County Monday morning, just 10 miles away from the Hawarden Fire, as temperatures continue to soar in the region.

Riverside City County Fire crews responded to the new brush fire, called the Columbia Fire around 8 a.m. on Monday near Columbia Ave and Michigan Ave, according to CAL FIRE.

The fire grew to nearly 57 acres and as of 12:25 p.m., the fire was 75% contained and evacuation warnings were lifted.

Evacuation warnings were in place for the area north of Massachusetts Avenue, south of Marlborough Avenue, east of Kentwood Drive along with Marlborough Avenue and west of Mount Vernon Avenue.
