Spectacular Electrical Storm Brings Down 911 System In Palm Springs
ADELANTO (CBSLA.com) — A third straight day of wild weather has the high desert regions of Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire under flash flood warnings early Thursday.
An electrical storm caught on video over Banning also brought down the 911 system in Palm Springs for a few hours. The Palm Springs Police Department had to tweet out an alternate phone line for emergencies.

The system was restored about three hours later.
The thunderstorm and the heavy rain it brought prompted flash flood warnings for southeastern Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage, as well as parts of state Route 74.
A flash flood advisory was also issued for Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris, western Beaumont, Woodcrest and March Air Force Base.
