Los Angeles 710 Freeway car-to-car shooting leaves one person injured

A driver was injured in a car-to-car shooting on the 710 Freeway in East Los Angeles just after midnight, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The shooting happened on southbound 710 near the 5 Freeway junction. The CHP says someone fired several times at a Toyota Prius, hurting at least one person inside the vehicle.

The driver of the Prius was able to drive to Los Angeles Community Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. It's not clear if the passenger in the Prius was also hurt.

All southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway were briefly shut down as investigators searched the roadway for evidence.

There is no description of the suspect car nor the suspects, and the motive is still unknown as police continue their investigation.
